The book
Hasselblad Master Vol. 7 – ENLIGHTEN is an extraordinary chapter in the Hasselblad Masters book series. It brings together the photographic works of the Hasselblad Masters 2021 and interprets the competition theme ENLIGHTEN from five very different but self-contained perspectives.
The book brings together the series of
Across 118 pages, a multi-layered dialogue unfolds between architecture, people, landscape, and cultural heritage—underpinned by the shared idea of light as a creative, narrative, and emotional element. Despite the diversity of genres, the book feels cohesive and is a logical continuation of the Hasselblad Masters series.
The large-format coffee table book (29 × 35 cm) is written entirely in English and includes a multilingual foreword in English, French, German, and Chinese. It is aimed equally at photography enthusiasts, collectors, and Hasselblad aficionados who appreciate not only individual images but also photographic series in context.
Limited edition and signed
Unlike all previous volumes in the Hasselblad Masters series, Vol. 7 – ENLIGHTEN was never sold regularly. The book was published in a very small print run and was only distributed to selected Hasselblad flagship stores worldwide. This special form of publication gives the volume its own collector's value. It is not a classic commercial product, but a rare document of the Hasselblad Masters Competition 2021 – intended for a small circle of photographers, partners, and collectors. Currently, the four copies here are the only books available for sale.
Each copy offered here will be sent with a personal dedication and signature.
Print
The book is complemented by a signed fine art print from my series ENLIGHTEN:
The Monte Rosa Hut at night.
This building marks the origin of my long-term project Modern Alpine Architecture. When I first saw the hut in a magazine, I knew immediately that I wanted to photograph this place one day. It took five years, several thousand kilometers of driving, and a glacier crossing before I finally achieved this goal—but it was worth every effort. The modern mountain hut by Andrea Deplazes is perched above the Monte Rosa Glacier, overlooking Zermatt and the archetypal silhouette of the Matterhorn. For me, this motif is the perfect representation of the entire series: photography at the limit in high alpine terrain meets the clear, elegant design language of contemporary architecture.
The print is in the format 28 × 21 cm on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Fine Art paper and is hand-signed.
