Málaga Photo Tour - Program

Day 1

You will arrive at the cozy Nomadara Boutique B&B in Coín. In the evening, we'll get to know each other better over dinner and discuss the details of the coming days.

Day 2-4

During our photo tour, we will utilize a variety of locations to practice different photographic techniques. Whether it's long exposures by the sea, architectural and street photography in small mountain villages and large cities, or astrophotography in the nature reserve, I guarantee you variety when taking photos. We start our day trips before sunrise to capture the first rays of sunlight. We use the midday hours for car journeys, sightseeing and relaxation. Along the way, we will have a late breakfast and an early dinner to make the most of the best times for photography. During our excursions, we will follow the best light for photography, and you will learn to improve your compositions and refine your photographic technique. I will address your questions individually at any time.

Day 5

Today, we will evaluate our collected works on the computer. I'll show you helpful tips and tricks on how to efficiently sort your images and get the most out of your shots in Lightroom, Capture One, and Photoshop. You will be amazed at how much potential is in your photos and how you can further improve them through targeted editing.

Day 6

On the last day, you have the option to depart individually or extend your stay in the beautiful Nomadara Boutique B&B and continue to try out your newly learned skills.

Málaga Photo Tour - Information & Organization

Prerequisites

Due to the small group size of maximum 4 participants, I guarantee individual support. Therefore, this trip is well suited for both photography beginners and advanced photographers. However, you should have a clear understanding of basic knowledge such as the relationship between aperture, exposure time and ISO. You should also be able to operate your camera.

Photo Equipment

In addition to your camera, I recommend bringing a maximum of 3 lenses. A standard focal length between 35 and 50mm is most helpful. You'll be well-equipped with an additional wide-angle lens between 16 and 24mm and a telephoto lens between 80 and 200mm. You'll need a stable tripod for the evening shots. Feel free to bring any equipment you'd like to learn how to use better (filters, remote shutter release, etc.).

Accommodation

Accommodation is included in the workshop price. Our own Bed & Breakfast Nomadara is located in the historic center of the small town of Coín and serves as a starting point for our photo journey. There are three rooms and a wonderful cave suite to choose from. The rooms are already reserved for us. The first to book gets to choose their room first.

Transportation

We will reach our photo locations flexibly in a shared car. Each participant is responsible for their own arrival and departure flights. Upon request, we can arrange transportation to and from Málaga Airport.

Good to know

  • During the photo workshop, we will primarily be shooting in the best light. Therefore, we will be out early in the morning and until late in the evening. Sunrise is around 8:00 am and sunset around 8:15 pm at this time of year. We arrive at each shooting location about an hour earlier. The journey time is a maximum of two hours.

  • On our tours, we will mostly have to manage shorter distances on foot, but we will also be on a well-secured hiking trail for a maximum of 3 hours at a time.

  • It is still very warm in Málaga in September (18°-28°C). When choosing your clothing, make sure to use breathable materials that protect you from the sun. I recommend a sun hat, as well as sturdy shoes and a cardigan for the evening.

About me

Albrecht Voss

I have been working as a photographer since 2010, primarily photographing modern architecture in the magnificent mountain regions of Europe. My aim is to create a work of art with every photograph. For this I use a wide variety of camera technology, from compact cameras and various drones to the Hasselblad medium format camera. My photos have already appeared in all German photo magazines and I have created photo series for Hasselblad, Gitzo, Manfrotto and Lowepro, among others.
