A photograph of this mountain refuge by architect Andrea Deplazes marked the beginning of the Modern Alpine Architecture series. When I saw this magnificent example of modern architecture against the backdrop of the Matterhorn, I knew that one day I would stand on this rocky plateau. Five years, a 2,000km drive, and a very tricky glacier crossing later, the time had come. When the alarm rang at 4:30 a.m., my assistant and I crept out of one of the dormitories and set up my camera in the dark. Another hour passed before the reflection of the rising sun bathed the summit of the Matterhorn in a mystical red. I pressed the shutter, and a dream came true.

Acrylic

The Metallic ultraHD photo prints are based on Fuji Crystal Pearl paper, whose special surface gives the white portions of the photo a metallic shimmer. The colors are luminous and the black density is intensified. As an ultraHD print, the resolution is doubled during printing. Lightweight and shatterproof 2 mm thick acrylic glass is used for the mounting of the photograph. The aluminum Dibond backing ensures even greater stability. In combination with the Fuji Crystal Pearl paper, your subject looks particularly vibrant and refined.
