Double Award 2025 Architizer A+ Awards
I am very pleased to announce that my photo series Cabane Tortin has received a Special Mention in the Architecture + Photography & Video category at this year's Architizer A+Awards. This project was realized in close collaboration with the Norwegian architect Snorre Stinessen, who himself is a Finalist in the Architecture + Glass category for the same mountain hut. In addition, his firm was selected as one of the five best architecture firms in the world in the Best Architecture Firm (XS) category.
Snorre aptly describes it: “We are extremely proud to share the news that also this year we are chosen among the world´s Top 5 in the Oscars of Architecture – the A+ Awards.“
The Architizer A+ Award is the world's largest architecture competition. Of the thousands of international submissions, less than 5% were awarded a Special Mention – which makes me all the more delighted that my project was selected. A top-class jury with architectural icons such as Kongjian Yu (Turenscape), Evelyn Lee (Practice of Architecture) or Philippe Block (ETH Zurich) as well as creative minds from design, art and technology decides on the honors.
Architizer reaches over 400 million people with the aim of inspiring architects worldwide and supporting them through high-quality content, competitions and product platforms.
As an architectural photographer, my aim is not only to translate the visions of architectural firms technically precisely, but also atmospherically strongly and emotionally appealing. Architecture is not created solely by the building – it unfolds its effect through the right light, the angle of view, the story that the photo tells. I see this award not only as recognition of my work, but also as an appreciation of the important contribution that excellent architectural photography can make to communicating innovative design ideas. Because only through a strong visual language does outstanding architecture become visible and accessible worldwide – and thus inspires new projects, ideas and people.
My special thanks go to Snorre Stinessen and the Cabane Tortin team for their trust and great collaboration in the midst of the Swiss Alps – and to everyone who supports this path. More information about the creation of the photo series can be found on the associated project page.
